• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Peer Specialist or eligible to obtain Peer Specialist certification.
• Experience with mental illnesses and/or substance abuse.
• Mental health consumer who has been diagnosed and in recovery from a mental illness within the past two (2) years who is willing to be a role model for adults with serious or persistent mental illness.

• Assists in development of strengths-based individual goals.
• Serves as an advocate, mentor, coach or facilitator for resolution of issues that a peer is unable to resolve on their own.
• Assists in the development of rehabilitation goals.
• Develops community support.
• Provides education in ways to maintain personal wellness and recovery.
• Provides education on mental health navigation.
• Implements scheduled treatment and program activities in accordance with program plan.
• Leads or co-leads groups, meetings, and activities as assigned.
