Shift:    Schedule B, 7:30 pm - 8:00 am (days of the week will vary), every other weekend off.

 

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in accordance with Florida statue 464 with a minimum of 5 years of experience. 
• Three (3) years of psychiatric RN experience required.

Description

 

• Serves as the lead RN for the CRF night shift; While on-duty, provides direct supervision and direction for 7:30 pm – 8:00 am RNs and other CRF staff as assigned by CRF RN Lead and CRF Team Leader. 
• Oversees nursing responsibilities across all inpatient units in accordance with established procedures for the night shift (7:30 pm – 8:00 am) under direction from the Inpatient Director; Ensures unit and entire inpatient facility operates in accordance with established policies and procedures and medical staff direction; assists unit nurses in completion of admission process when needed.
• Provides supervision to other units by rounding on each unit multiple times per night      and by phone. Provides guidance and direction to all units regarding admissions, clinical challenges, staffing issues, and reassignment of staff throughout the facility to ensure adequate coverage, and policy enforcement, when necessary.
• Completes pre-admission nursing assessments, referral processing, medication administration, and all roles established with the CRF RN position.
• Provides support to new employee on-the-job training for nursing personnel (staff and contract) in accordance with established orientation program plans, as directed by CRF RN Lead.
• Supports CRF Team Leader and Inpatient Director to ensure ongoing program and unit compliance with applicable Joint Commission, CMS, AHCA, C&F/ADM, and Agency Policies and Procedures.  Facilitates ongoing maintenance of documentation to demonstrate compliance (e.g., via program procedures, staffing plans, training plans, meeting minutes, clinical records, etc.).
• Oversees and/or maintains unit compliance with applicable medication management, storage and narcotic control policies and procedures.  Oversees other night shift CRF RN completes the proper patient assessments, referral processing, medication reconciliation, and MARs as applicable, in accordance with unit procedures.
• Completes documentation of seclusion/hold interventions and turns forms into the CRF Team Leader on a timely basis (e.g., next working day) for review.
