Qualifications

  • Recognized as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist by the Florida Certification Board and in good standing.
  • Bachelors degree is required.
  • 5 years of experience as a Peer Specialist required.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license with no more than six (6) points and maintain Apalachee Designated Auto Driver's status if transporting consumers is part of the job assignment.

Description

  • Provides guidance and support to staff through regular supervision meetings, shadowing in the community, and monthly chart reviews.
  • Maintains communication with team by planning and facilitating quarterly in-person meetings, bi-monthly team meetings and responding to staff communication.
  • Coaches, mentors and develops staff including preceptor guidance for new employees.
  • Participates in care coordination leadership meetings and member staffing conferences.
  • Triages member issues with other managers and exercise good judgment and critical thinking skills in addressing staff and member issues.
  • Develops program guidance, procedures, and training as requested by management.
  • Works with appropriate departments to develop tracking and data mechanisms for outcomes of peer support program.
  • Review and report member claims data.
  • Supports management in community recovery initiatives.
  • Acts as the liaison with consumer organizations and provider agencies regarding efforts to expand the use of peer specialists and support recovery-oriented programs.
  • Serves as champion for recovery principles within ACI and being a resource to ACI staff on recovery strategies and tools, such as wellness recover action plans.
